Imphal (Manipur), 16 November 2020: The Directorate of Information and Public Relations, DIPR, Government of Manipur organised the National Press Day at DIPR auditorium here today. The observance was graced by M. Joy Singh, Commissioner, DIPR and H. Balkrishna, Director, DIPR as Chief Guest and Function President respectively. Altogether 9 journalist awards were given away during the observance.

 To mark the day, a workshop on ‘Role of media during the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on the media’ was conducted. Yumnam Rupachandra Singh, Chief Editor, Impact TV a local cable news network and General Secretary, Editor's Guild, Manipur, Ramkung Pamei, Editor, The Cham, a Rongmei vernacular daily based in Tamenglong and President of Manipur Hills Journalists Union and Chingkeinganba Singh, Sub-Editor of People's Chronicle, an English daily and a member of the All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMWJU) attended the workshop as Resource Persons. A. Ibomcha Sharma, IIS, Head, Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal moderated the workshop.
