Gangtok, Jan 19: Executive members of the  Journalist Union of Sikkim (JUS) has convened its review meeting on 19 at its office at DPH road with an  agenda of do discuss on publishing of bilingual (Nepali & English) magazine which will be published by Journalist Union of Sikkim.

The meeting discussed the length and breadth for the publication of magazine and constituted editorial board headed by Senior Journalist Bijoy Gurung for English language and Bhim Rawat/Pradeep Lohagon for Nepali language. The meeting also decided the magazine will highlight the problems faced by reporters while tackling Covid -19 pandemic. It was also decided, magazine will be compilation of articles from different field reporters sharing their experiences while reporting during Covid 19 pandemic. It will be bilingual magazine and guest column will also be there from eminent writer and senior journalist.  

The meeting was presided by President JUS Bhim Rawat.

Further, the meeting also decide that JUS will organise mega poetry showcase event in order to understand and appreciate the world around us through poetry.

Journalist Union of Sikkim (JUS) is an independent body for working journalists of Sikkim. The JUS will fight for safeguarding the Freedom of the Press, defeating attacks on Journalists and Free Speech; and work for the welfare of journalists. JUS is empanelled Indian Journalists Union (IJU) which is apex journalists union of India and only representative organisation of journalists in India. It has its affiliates in almost all the States and Union Territories.
